Mystery UFO halo over Moscow

THIS glowing halo in clouds over Moscow looks like an Independence Day style alien attack.

The astonishing ring was spotted over the city and captured on video by stunned locals.

It has been described as a "true mystery" by a UFO expert.

Scores of supernatural enthusiasts have been gripped by the astonishing footage and speculated it could be an ALIEN MOTHERSHIP.

The sighting in the clouds is reminiscent of scenes from the 1996 Hollywood blockbuster Independence Day.

Aliens tried destroy the earth massive using circular ships to zap the planet powerful mega lasers.

Nick Pope, a former UFO analyst for the Ministry of Defence, examined the remarkable footage.

Theories

He said: "I've never seen anything like this. It's a true mystery.

"Whatever it is, it's one of the most beautiful and spectacular things I've ever seen.

"Speculation is at fever pitch on the internet."

"This is being discussed on forums, blogs and email lists all around the world. Some people say it's a bizarre meteorological effect.

"Theories range from it being an alien mothership, proof of Russian weather modification technology - a weather weapon - or even a sign of the end of the world.

The video has appeared on YouTube and been viewed more than 100,000 times.

The bizarre light was spotted last Wednesday.

But meteorologists rejected theories of the supernatural calling it an optical effect.

The Moscow's weather bureau said several weather fronts had passed through Moscow as the sun shined from the west to cause the effect.

A spokesman for the bureau said: "This is purely an optical effect, although it does look impressive.

"If you look closer, you can see sun rays coming through that cloud. Most likely, the sun was setting when the video was being made."

$12, 000 Engagement Ring!!

  • Mar. 16th, 2008 at 9:49 PM

Honey, will you marry... Oh. Never mind...

Fri Mar 14, 10:48 AM ET

It is the one moment every man wants to get right -- and which London floor-fitter Lefkos Hajji could hardly have got more wrong.

The luckless 28 year-old's dreams of giving his sweetheart, Leanne, 26, the ultimate proposal have literally vanished into thin air.

Hajji, of Hackney, east London, had concealed a $12,000 engagement ring inside a helium balloon. The idea was that she would pop the balloon as he popped the question.

But as he left the shop, a gust of wind pulled the balloon from his hand and he watched the ring -- and quite possibly the affections of his girlfriend -- sailing away over the rooftops.

"I couldn't believe it," he told The Sun newspaper.

"I just watched as it went further and further into the air.

"I felt like such a plonker. It cost a fortune and I knew my girlfriend would kill me."

Hajji spent two hours in his car trying to chase and find the balloon, without success.

"I thought I would give Leanne a pin so I could literally pop the question," he said.

"But I had to tell her the story -- she went absolutely mad. Now she is refusing to speak to me until I get her a new ring."

He is hoping the ring will still turn up.

"It would be amazing if someone found it," he added.

Personal Comment:

Haha, Poor guy! Not only did he lost the $12,000 ring and blew his chance to propose, but his girlfriend also got mad at him...^_^;; When I first heard this news, I can't help but laugh.. But then, the guy's situation isn't something to be laugh about. I mean, come on, just what would you feel if you lost a large amount of ring? I mean, $12, 000 is $12, 000.. I'll definitely be frustrated and cry who knows for how long, if that ever happens to me (I meant, losing a $12, 000 value)... Hopefully, he would still be able to find the ring, although the chances are very slim. But best of luck to that guy!(^_^)

I'm still not getting any better from my flu. Right after going to Church, my family went to Stop n Shop, and I really protested because I just wanted to go home.  I actually cried because I really wanted to go home.. My mom was very worried. When I got home, I changed my clothes and went to sleep right  away, though my mom went to me before I fell asleep and massaged my head, hands, etc.. and asked me to take the medicines first before I fell asleep. When I woke up, I wasn't still feeling better but I need to get up for lunch. After lunch, I slept again. I was thinking I need to wake up by 2 or 3 pm, so that I can study for my exam on Tuesday which I'm really nervous about because my grades aren't really good in that subject. I woke up almost three, and my parents and elder sister were gone to go to Worcester and do other stuffs. In the end, even if I say I was going to study, I can't because I wasn't still feeling well, but I felt much better that before. It about around 5 pm that I started studying about WBC count, platelet count, eosinophil count and the retics count. I don't think it's a comprehensive study, rather just skimming through my notes because I was feeling malaise. I just really hoped that there would be no classes tomorrow (only have one class).. and guess what? Bceause of my hopeful thoughts, when I opened my university email, my professor emailed us that she got flu and therefore, classes are cancelled! Yay!! Very lucky, indeed! I'll take that time to study and rest....

Funny Video

  • Aug. 1st, 2007 at 2:21 PM

This one is so funny. If you don't speak or understand Japanese, don't worry, you won't be lost. I only understand a little bit of Japanese conversation in the video. I think the guy wearing a red jersey is saying that the class's teacher would not be able to come to meet them so as part of their studying, he's going to show them a video for the class as part of their English learning.  In this video, whoever laughs at the man who is speaking in English would be punished(by the ninjas Lol). I don't mean to offend anyone by putting this video here. Please don't take this seriously.

Title: Don't Laugh When Japanese Man Tries to Speak English

Mind Traps

  • Aug. 1st, 2007 at 8:24 AM

I found this in a forum recently and I thought that I might as well share these to others. It's pretty confusing in the beginning, but these will help you guys exercise your minds. ^^

Can you see both the duck and the bunny in this ambiguous drawing? The duck's bill is the bunny's ears. This was first used by a psychologist named Joseph Jastrow in the early 1900s.

Can you see both the young woman and the old woman in this classic optical illusion? If you need some help, the eye of the old woman is the ear of the young woman. The old woman's mouth is the young woman's necklace.
P.S. It really took me a while to notice this one. I even had to ask my brother how did he find out....LoL

Does this look like a spiral? It's actually a bunch of concentric circles. Use your mouse to trace one circle and you will see that you come back to where you started instead of spiraling into the center.
